A GOMERSAL couple were delighted when their pony took top honours at a prestigious agricultural show at the weekend.
Welsh cob section D Taffechan Miss Moneypenny – or Tinkerbell for short – won the barren mare and gelding class at Todmorden Show, Calderdale, on Saturday.
Owners Georgia Rhodes and James Hartley were double delighted as it was a the first time they had won a class at a Welsh Pony and Cob Society bronze medal show. Tinkerbell, who is six, was sired by the late Royal Welsh winning stallion Yarty Welsh Dragon. The couple have owned her since she was a foal.
Georgia said: “We are absolutely over the moon. It was a very muddy and wet day, but a great atmosphere.”
Todmorden Show took place despite the torrential rain which claimed several other recent events including Honley Show and North Yorkshire County.
