Emma was fighting for a place in the last four of the competition, and stunned the judges with her photoshoot which earned her Picture of the Week and an automatic place in the next round.

The girls were in Barbados for the second week running, and their first challenge was to learn some dance moves so they could feature in the video for top pop band Cover Drive’s new single.

Emma, who works in a Morley call centre, said she initially felt very awkward dancing, but was proud she had risen to the challenge.

For their second challenge the girls were given a makeover and sent to the famous Harrison’s Caves to do a shoot for Jerboa jewellery accompanied by head judge Elle MacPherson.

Emma, who was given an elfin-style wig, said she was determined to prove that the judges were right to keep her in after coming in the bottom two last week.

Studying her photograph Elle said: “That wig was either going to really work for her, or not work for her. She’s really modern, she got into it and she knew what she had to do. The jewellery looked great, her hair looked great and the make-up looks fantastic.”

After all the photoshoots, Elle and fellow judges Dannii Minogue and Tyson Beckford assessed the girls’ performances and Dannii told Emma: “this makes you look like a superstar!

Tyson said: “She is different from the conventional beauty that we are used to,” while Elle wondered: “She is more modern looking than we have seen, but is the industry ready for her.”

Tyson replied: “I think they will love her.”
