Video: Dewsbury Rams mascot leads zumba celebration

A FAST-PACED zumba class marked the start of a new partnership between Dewsbury Rams and Kirklees Active Leisure.

The rugby league club and the sporting organisation will work together to promote each other’s work.

The Rams will spread the word amongst fans about activities and facilities on offer at Dewsbury Sports Centre, who will in turn help market the club.

Rams players will have access to sports centre facilities to help with their training and rehabilitation, while the two organisations will work together on summer holiday schemes for children.

Kirklees Active Leisure card holders will also be able to see a Dewsbury home game for free during the summer.

Club chairman Mark Sawyer said: “The Rams need to establish greater links in the area.

“This partnership with Dewsbury Sports Centre not only provides us with a link to the many visitors they have, but also underlines how local organisations can work together.”

Kirklees Active Leisure’s Alex Mellor added: “The Rams are Dewsbury’s only professional sports team and with Dewsbury Sports Centre being the main sports facility in the area, we both have a number of common aims.”
