Village Christmas tree festival to raise money for leukaemia charity

Mirfield will be overrun with Christmas trees this weekend as the annual Christmas Tree Festival returns.

The festival takes place this Friday December 4 and Saturday December 5 at 10am-4pm and Sunday from noon-3pm at Trinity Methodist Church on Huddersfield Road.

There will be 30 real Christmas trees grown within half-a-mile of the church and decorated by local businesses and organisations and there will be a prayer tree for visitors to place their own message on.

Entry is free and you can vote for your favourite tree with prizes being awarded on Sunday.

A highlight is a nativity scene made by the wood turning club. Donations can be made to support Bloodwise, formerly Leukaemia Research.
