Water-way to spend a day!

PUPILS donned their hard hats and high-vis jackets for a tour of Yorkshire Water’s £2.3m flood prevention scheme.

The pupils from Howard Park Community School in Cleckheaton have been watching the work going on next to their school for the last few months.

Melissa Reynard, from contractors BarhaleWSP, said: “We wanted to give the children the chance to get out and learn more about the environment around them.”

Assistant headteacher Jonathan Pickles added: “It’s great that such a large business has offered this opportunity.

“The whole school is now taking part in a poster competition, with prizes being supplied by Yorkshire Water for each year group.”
