Motorists face overnight closures of the M62 through Chain Bar this weekend.
Work is being carried out by the Highways Agency to allow construction work to continue on the £150m managed motorways scheme aimed at reducing congestion.
The motorway will be closed between Junction 27 and 28 from 8pm on Saturday until 8am on Sunday. The motorway will be closed in both directions and diversions will be in place.
Further closures are expected until November between Junction 25, at Brighouse, and Junction 30, at Rothwell.
This weekend, workers will be installing a new gantry.
Motorists have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys to compensate for the closures.
