His new books are shorter stories of a romantic nature with an Irish background.

They are available now in e-book and hardback format.

Mr Forde, a former Batley probation officer, now lives in Haworth with his wife Sheila.

He allowed £200,000 profits from the sales of his books between 1990 and 2005 to be given to charity and received an MBE in 2005.

Mr Forde also recently published Rebecca’s Revenge, an adult novel which begins and ends in Mirfield and tells a story of rape and vengeance.
