Wyke shop owner injured in struggle with would-be robber
A shop owner was hurt in a struggle with a would-be robber who demanded cash from the till.
The teenager went into the shop in Union Road, Wyke, at around 10.10pm on Thursday as the 64-year-old owner was getting ready to close up for the night.
A struggle began after the teenager told the owner to open the till.
He was disturbed by a customer and ran off towards Acaster Drive.
The owner needed hospital treatment for a small cut to his arm.
Police are now hunting for a boy in his late teens, of average build and around 5ft 10ins tall.
He was wore a dark coloured top and his face was covered.
Tong and Wyke Neighbourhood Policing Team is also carrying out reassurance patrols.
