For 10 years we have been celebrating the triumphs and achievements of children who have succeeded in a remarkable way, however big or small.

And now it's time to nominate children again, aged up to 16 from North Kirklees, to show how special they are.

Your child, or one you know, could have demonstrated good academic standards, have an outstanding attendance record or an excellent attitude to their education, or could have a natural talent, ability and passion for music or performing arts.

He or she could have demonstrated personal bravery, succeeded against the odds or shown great personality or determination to succeed.

Nominees may have helped enhance community life, be it organising a community group, an action group or in some way making their area a better place. The child could have helped support the environment, perhaps clearing litter, planting trees, helping with local wildlife, riverbank or canal projects, working with environment groups or educating others about green issues.

Any child who has an achievement to be proud of can be a Champion Child. For advice, call Liz Allen on 01924 375111.

All you have to do is write a letter of no more than 200 words explaining why the child should be nominated and post

it to Hannah Ridgeway, Reporter Limited, 17 Wellington Road, Dewsbury WF13 1HQ, marking your envelope 'Champion Children'.

Alternatively, you can email your entries to [email protected] Please include your address and daytime

contact number and send entries by MARCH 19.

The winners will be invited to attend the award ceremony at Ponderosa Lakeside restaurant in April.
