I’d like to thank this newspaper for its part in raising awareness of Heckyfest in Heckmondwike Green Park, last Saturday.
It was the best one yet with record crowds enjoying 10 hours of live music and kids entertainment in beautiful weather. On behalf of our core funders, Kirklees Council (who we’d also like to thank) we did a survey to see where people were coming from.
It appears many local families are arranging for friends and relatives to visit them so it coincides with the festival itself. One lady from Brighton sounded very envious and is keen to have a similar event down there!
As with previous Heckyfests, the general consensus from all those who weren’t local was how hospitable, friendly and welcoming everyone was. Heckmondwike was a very proud, happy warm town on Saturday.
Thank you so much to all the people of the town and the surrounding areas for making it such a magical day for all involved.
