Drama was a vivid insight into second world war

Last Monday I was privileged to see the latest production of a young Heckmondwike-based theatre group, the West Yorkshire Drama Acadamy.

It was a play called We Shall Remember Them, a small series of interlinked stories from a child’s perspective about the second world war.

The talented cast comprising mainly youngsters aged eight to 18 from the local area gave a thorouhly professional performance under the expert guidance of director Rebecca Foster.

It was a vivid insight to the war and profiled the evacuees and their parents before and after the war – with all the associated drama and real life trauma.

The show perfectly suited the Bradford Studio Theatre and I can’t wait to see their next production.
