Happy memories of Liversedge

By gum, that there photo from Martin Tordoff in last week’s Guardian of the train on what is now the Spen Valey Greenway, really brought back some memories.

Playing on the old coal tips at the side of the railway, from the Stanley Pit down Primrose Lane, reckoning to be speedway riders on our Raleigh Palm Beach push bikes with cow horn handle bars, and train spotting the usual half dozen steam trains going back and forth to Bradford.

Also walking to Clayborn – we had no cars in those days – to watch my beloved Sedge.

Now I have to relive those times with my wee N gauge model railway, oh happy times.
