In praise of Dewsbury Hospital staff

I felt I had to write in defence of Dewsbury and District Hospital.

I have been a patient there for seven weeks, which included the period over Christmas and the new year, and have had the best care in the high dependency unit and ward 14.

Mr Narula and Dr Brian have literally saved my life, treated me with utmost respect and the care from the nurses has been wonderful – I can’t praise them enough.

I will say I found the nurses seem to have far too much paperwork to do, to the detriment of being able to do the nursing that they have trained years for.

May I also state that everyone I know does not want to amalgamate further with Pontefract Hospital, it is too far for the patients to travel. The same with moving the most serious casualty cases to Pinderfields; lives will be lost.

Once again many thanks to everyone.
