last week I was driving along Heckmondwike Road from Dewsbury towards Heckmondwike town centre.
It was rush hour and the traffic was moving quite slowly.
I was a few cars behind a bus which pulled over as we approached Walkley Lane.
No-one got on or off the bus immediately and some drivers, myself included, were getting impatient as they couldn’t pass.
But then I saw the bus driver escort an elderly man with a white stick off the bus, and across the busy road.
This gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness shamed me for being so impatient.
I thought what the driver did was very kind and he should be praised for his actions.
