Batley CC champions as Moorlands miss out – Scholes’ title triumph and double joy for Mills
BATLEY were crowned Central Yorkshire League Division One champions after a final-day triumph at Moorlands whose promotion hopes finally faded.
A 26-run success saw Batley register their fifth maximum points win in the final six games to end on 97 points and pip Carlton to top spot by two points.
Scholes won the Division Two title and were promoted with Hopton Mills. Both sides knew they needed six-point victories to edge out rivals Wrenthorpe A and they achieved that with wins at Birstall A and Adwalton respectively.
