KBW’s Lewis Benson was competing in his first full amateur bout and came up against K Scott from Hull Boxing ABC.

Benson impressed with his long range boxing and excellent use of his jab not allowing his opponent to settle into the fight or allowing him to set up his own attacks.

After three rounds, the judges awarded the contest to Benson by unanimous decision.

A couple of days after making his impressive debut Benson was back in action alongside his team mate Dougie Price, both boxing opponents from Halifax ABC.

Price was only given a couple of hours notice of his bout against L Parkinson and was returning from a long injury layoff but after a close first round the KBW man came out with his typical aggressive style to win the last two rounds and claim a unanimous points win.

Benson put on another clinical display of boxing, using an array of shots as he dominated C Green, from Halifax ABC, taking the bout by a unanimous points decision.

Price was back in action 24 hours later when he was on the same card as club mate Karan Singh last Saturday.

Singh made a cautious start against his tricky opponent K Neilson, from Eastside ABC, but finished the first round strongly.

Both boxers came out for the second round with purpose but it was Singh who gained the upper hand, landing a barrage of punches that were unanswered by his opponent and the referee had no choice but to stop the bout as the KBW man secured a TKO win.

Price came up against Eastside’s K Clark for his second bout in as many days.

Price boxed to instructions behind a high guard, throwing solid combinations and the more cleaner hurtful shots winning on a unanimous points decision.

KBW’s Jerry Price competed in the Yorkshire Schoolboys Class B final in Halifax, where he met J Bunclark, from the Ingles Boxing Gym in Sheffield.

Jerry Price boxed beautifully producing a dominant performance using his jab to control the pace of the bout.

The KBW man was able to land the more telling combinations mixing both to the body and head to take all three rounds to seal a unanimous points win, which booked a place in the National Schoolboys quarter-finals in Nottingham.
