Bulls defeat league leaders

RAVENSTHORPE Bulls continued their impressive run when they defeated Spen Valley League Division One leaders ALC 3-2 last Saturday.

The win has really shaken things up at the top as it allowed Soothill to move level on 27 points with ALC, while the Bulls are now just five points behind with four games in hand.

Paul Beaumont bagged a brace and Dominic Simpson also netted for Ravensthorpe.

Soothill defeated BD3 United Reserves 5-3 to draw level at the top as Tom Yarnold netted a hat-trick and Johnny Beverley fired a brace.

Ilyas Lunat was also in hat-trick form as Norfolk overcame bottom side Bulls Head Dewsbury 4-2.

Mo Bham scored Norfolk’s other goal as they earned a fourth win of the season, while Sam Pickles and Ash McDaid replied for Bulls Head.

Cleckheaton Sporting slipped a place to ninth after they were defeated 2-1 at home to Inter Batley, who leapfrogged them in the table.

Suleman Variava scored both Inter’s goals, while Alan Wilks replied for Cleckheaton.

The first division clash between Fairbank Reserves and Howden Clough was abandoned.

Two top flight games fell victim to the freezing temperatures as Fairbank v Bradford and Vision v Girlington were postponed.

Savile Youth moved up a place to fifth in the Premier Division after they overcame Marsh 6-4.

Huzaifa Adam struck twice, while Sohail Ibrahim, Tahir Polli, Imran Adam and Imran Police were also on target for Savile Youth, while Mark Wigley (two), Kyle Kershaw and Ian Bolland replied.

Ravensthorpe Rangers went down 3-2 to TVR United, who claimed the points thanks to a goals from Asif (two) and Junaid.

Savile United suffered a 5-0 defeat away to BD3 United in the first round of the Sonder Heating Cup.
