Cleckheaton beat Morley in rugby derby

CLECKHEATON RUFC came out on top in the big West Yorkshire derby against Morley in North East One.

A hat-trick of tries by skipper Richard Piper and one by winger James Marshall plus two conversions, a penalty and a drop goal from Iain Gordon saw Cleck through to a 30-14 win.

Morley were 17-0 down at half-time and 27-0 behind before they scored their first try through Mark Cooke and a second from Simon Bradshaw, who kicked two conversions.
