Cleckheaton will target victory over Birkenhead Park on Saturday as they bid to close the gap on their fellow National League Three North strugglers (ko 2.15pm).
The Moorenders have won just two of their opening 11 fixtures and are languishing second-bottom in the table with three matches left before the end of 2015.
Cleckheaton are eight points behind third-bottom Huddersfield YMCA, who visit Moorend in two weeks, and a further point off Stockport.
Both Cleck’s victories came on home midden and they know success on Saturday could kick-start a run of form which would help them climb the table.
Birkenhead are ninth, with four wins from their 11 games, two of which have come on the road, so Cleck can expect another tricky encounter.
Mikey Hayward scored on only his second appearance for Cleck as they slipped to a 36-8 defeat at Wirral a fortnight ago, while a week without a game may have helped re-charge their batteries.
Full-back Ronan Evans is another player in form and he kicked Cleckheaton’s other points at Wirral as they led 8-0 early on before fading.
