Video: Hanging Heaton close in on treble with Priestley Shield success
Hanging Heaton Cricket Club are closing in on an historic cup treble this season after claiming the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield on Sunday.
The club’s first team lifted the Heavy Woollen Cup last week and quickly added more silverware to their collection when Heaton’s seconds bagged the Priestley Shield with a 102-run win over New Farnley.
Skipper Mark Inwood led from the front with a man of the match display in which he took 3-9 and scored 23 before he was presented with the winners’ trophy.
Hanging Heaton will complete a memorable treble of cup triumphs should they defeat Lightcliffe in the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup on August 25.
