Davis leads way in fine Spenborough performance

Spenborough AC's senior men rounded off the cross country season with some impressive displays at the National Cross Country Championships in Nottingham last Saturday.

Over 1,800 runners started the final race of the season and Paul Davis led the Spenborough runners home placing a fine 506th.

Davis was followed by Simon Bolland (657th), Kevin Ogden (721st), Ian Wilson (926th), Gerard Skippins (954th), Steven Hunt (1367) and Michael Dransfield.

The team placed 82nd from 181 complete teams in a race won by Ben Connor from Derby.

In the senior women’s race Jenni Muston and Natasha Geere had fine runs finishing 159th and 390th respectively from over 780 runners.
