Dewsbury Rams lose at Featherstone Rovers in the Northern Rail Cup

Dewsbury Rams suffered a second defeat in their Northern Rail Cup pool, losing on Sunday 38-6 at Featherstone Rovers.

The Rams made a bright start and after just three minutes took the lead.

Ryan Esders crossed for a try which Scott Spavin converted to see the visitors 6-0 ahead.

Dewsbury battled hard and kept their hosts at bay for half an hour before tries from Sam Smeaton and Andy Kain plus a Liam Finn goal saw Featherstone edge ahead 10-6 at the break.

The Rams dug in and kept Featherstone out until the hour mark before tries in the final quarter from Kyle Briggs (two), Tangi Ropati, Ben Kaye and Ian Hardman saw the home side to victory. Former Ram Finn landed four more conversions.
