Dickinson spot on in pool final

D Dickinson won the Spen Valley pool League individual competition, defeating A Gissing five frames to one in the final at The Hightown.

The team knock-out was an exciting game as Gomersal CC took a 2-0 lead but a missed black over the pocket proved the turning point and league winners Shears Stormers went on to seal a 7-4 victory.

n Norristhorpe Under-14s are top of Huddersfield League Division One with two games remaining following their 6-0 win over Meltham last week.

Tom Ashen crossed for Oliver Meehan to head home and Elliott Rayne scored the second after great work by Brandon Silverwood.

Rayne fired home the third and after Oli Murray hit a brace, Rayne completed the win with his hat-trick.

Norristhorpe Under-14 B have a great chance of promotion and lie second in Division Three after wins over Rastrick and Battyeford last weekend.

Substitute Meehan scored the only goal of the game as Norristhorpe beat Rastrick. Goalkeeper Liam Ford had an excellent game.

Henry Walker’s long range strike into the top corner gave Norristhorpe a 1-0 lead against Battyeford in their second game of the weekend.

Joe Thompson and Henry Kaye went on to bag a hat-trick apiece as Norristhorpe completed a 10-2 victory to maintain their challenge.
