Duo target promotion tilt

MOORLANDS and Hopton Mills are targetting a promotion tilt in their remaining six games in the Central Yorkshire League.

Moorlands are three points clear of Carlton at the top of Division One but also face a threat from Batley and Liversedge, who are hot on their heels and both have a game in hand.

Moorlands will be aiming to strengthen their grip at the top tomorrow when they travel to Methley A (1pm), while Liversedge host Batley in another crunch game.

Hopton Mills lie fourth in Division Two, six points off the promtion places.

With second placed Wrenthorpe A travelling to leaders Scholes, Hopton can make up ground if they can overcome mid-table Gildersome at Woodbottom.

Hanging Heaton bid to pull away from the Bradford League Division One relegation zone tomorrow when they host Baildon (1.30pm).

Despite slipping to a fifth straight defeat last week, Heaton made points on the three sides below them and victory over second-bottom Baildon will go a long way to securing their survival.
