O’Regan travelled to the iconic York Hall, Bethnal Green, last Sunday, where he defeated Finchley and District ABC boxer Mason Smith on points to win the lightweight (60KG) title.

Smith was fancied to claim the title following success in the Haringey Box Cup but it was 20-year-old O’Regan who produced the classier work over the three rounds to claim an impressive unanimous points victory.

England Boxing hosted the event when six new English title belts were up for grabs but O’Regan was the only Yorkshire boxer to qualify.

O’Regan’s impressive displays have not gone unnoticed and he recently joined the England senior team on a 12-month contract, while he is set to defend the English title in Sheffield in February.

He has also received sponsorship from Qualtech Resourcing Ltd, of Cross Street, Dewsbury.
