Fellows has had a magnificent first season with the Bennett Lane outfit, just missing out on scoring 1,000 Bradford League and 1,500 club runs.

Fellows was the third highest Bradford League Division One run scorer this season, finishing with 983 including three centuries and four 50s.

He finished behind Mark Robertshaw (Pudsey St Lawrence), who made 1,094 and Cleckheaton’s Tim Jackson, whose 67 last week saw him reach 1,018 runs for the season as the Moorenders clinched the first division title for the first time last Saturday.

Fellows also won man-of-the-match in Heaton’s Heavy Woollen Cup final win over New Farnley in August.

Fellows and Heaton opening bowler Dan Busfield welcomed former England and Yorkshire all-rounder Anthony McGrath and ex-professional footballer John Hendrie to view the country’s oldest club cricket trophy.

This season’s captain Mark Lawson will leave Hanging Heaton having agreed to join New Farnley, who clinched promotion from Division Two in their first season by defeating Farsley last Saturday.
