Crackenedge march on with seventh straight win

Crackenedge recorded their seventh straight win in the Wakefield League Premier Division last Saturday as they defeated Crofton Sports 5-1.

Crackenedge are seven points behind leaders Rock Inn with four games in hand and the sides meet this Saturday in a crunch clash in the title race.

Adam Fawcett scored for Crofton but Crackenedge maintained their 100 per cent record with a James Goodall brace plus goals from Adam Williams, Dominic Simpson and James Blane, while Nathan McDaid was their MoM.

Tom Ramsden scored four goals as Fox and Hounds won 5-2 away to White Swan to stay third in Division One.

Connor Secker scored the other goal as Fox and Hounds earned an 11th win of the season.

AFC Heckmondwike returned to the top of Division Two following a 6-1 win over Overthorpe Sports last Wednesday thanks to a brace apiece from Dom Carr, Courtney March and Luke Newsome.

However, they failed to capitalise as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Snydale Athletic Reserves on Saturday, which allowed Waterloo to draw level on 49 points thanks to a 2-1 win at Overthorpe.

Dewsbury Westside lie in 11th place after they overcame Crofton Sports Reserves 3-0, while Howden Clough remain bottom of the table after a 3-2 defeat at New Carlton despite Jack Scott and Shane Thornton scoring.
