George through in Spen Valley Trophy

George Healey booked their place in the Spen Valley Trophy second round with a 4-1 win over Savile Town last Saturday.

Goals from Simon Moore, Dom Carr, Oliver Mitchell and Ben Aprico saw George safely through, despite Muhammad Chotia replying for Savile Town.

Savile Youth edged out Dewsbury West Side Reserves 3-2 with Abdullah Aswat, Umair Patel and Mohammed Amir Patel on target.

Musa Latif and Irfan Ali replied for West Side but it wasn’t enough to prevent them bowing out.

Athletico overcame Savile United 4-1 as Zeeshan Haider bagged a brace, while Mohammed Raaj and Mahine Malik also struck.

Adam Munshi replied with Savile United’s consolation goal.

Chris Blackburn scored twice for Marsh but it was not enough to prevent them exiting the competition at the first hurdle as they went down 5-2 away to Palestino.

Abdul Qayum and Ryan Sansom bagged a brace apiece for Palestino, who also had Scott Morrison on target as they progressed.

Girlington eased into the second round, brushing aside Howden Clough 14-2 as Adeen Jawab bagged six goals.

Mohammed Qasim (hat-trick), Shoaib Javed (two), Saad Abbas, Umar Zahoor and Kamran Khan completed the tally.

Joe Hampshaw hit both Howden Clough’s consolation goals.

Norfolk and Inter Batley fought out a 4-4 draw in Spen Valley League Division One.

Ilyas Lunat hit a hat-trick and Amir Raje also struck for Norfolk, with Mohammed Navsarka (two), Awaab Ahmed and Osama Ahmed replying for Inter.
