Leeds United midfielder Paul Green has been called up for the Republic of Ireland’s international double header this month.
The new management team of Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane will take control of the games following their appointments this week and have chosen to keep Green in the squad despite him losing his place in the Leeds first team in recent weeks.
The Irish face Latvia in Dublin on Friday, November 15 and then travel to Poland on Tuesday, November 19.
Green joins United team-mates Rudy Austin (Jamaica), Marius Zaliukas (Lithuania) and Alex Mowatt (England under 19s) on international duty following the Charlton game on Saturday. Ross McCormack, however, has been left out by Scotland.
