Leeds United sign Premier defender on loan

LEEDS United have signed 33-year-old Bolton Wanderers defender Paul Robinson on a month’s loan deal.

The vastly experienced player can play anywhere across the back line and has chalked up more than 500 appearances since starting out as a junior with Watford.

He went on to play for West Brom before a £1m move to Bolton in January, 2010, going on to play 76 times for the club, including 20 appearances this season.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock is pleased to have added some experience to his back four with the signing of Robinson until April 9.

He told the club website: “I’ve been looking to see if I can get one or two leaders in.

“Paul is a player who I have had my eye on for a couple of weeks - since I came in - but for whatever reason we just couldn’t quite get it over the line.

“Now we’ve been able to do that I’m delighted. This is a great club for him and it gives us a chance to have a look at him with a view to next season.”

Robinson could make an instant debut as he is eligible for tonight’s match at Hull City.

Leeds, meanwhile, have allowed goalkeeper Paul Rachubka to go out on a month’s loan to Leyton Orient.
