LIVERSEDGE earned a confidence-boosting result against a Selby side who have improved under new manager Dave Heard.
The Clayborners had plenty of chances as they remain 11th in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.
The visitors went close as Tom Hyde shot over. It was a similar result with an Alex Hallam shot after a cross from Cory Larkin while Jerome White and Nathan Cartman combined to put James Hurtley in but his shot grazed a post.
Dave Bordman set up Cartman but his effort was saved by the goalkeeper before Liversedge made it count after 10 minutes when Dave Bordman found man-of-the-match Cartman in the area and he fired home.
Liversedge tried to build on their lead with Larkin finding a good position but he shot over the crossbar.
Selby were far from finished as Louis Blackwell tested Waggett while Liversedge were forced to make changes as a hamstring injury saw Chris Hanney replaced by Scott Driscoll.
Liversedge doubled their lead after 55 minutes when Bordman latched onto a long ball and rounded the goalkeeper before firing home from a tight angle. He was harshly booked for his goal celebration.
Jamie Wasley replaced Hurtley before a Driscoll shot deflected off a defender forcing the goalkeeper to tip the ball over the crossbar.
Joe Jagger came on for Hallam and had an immediate impact after 80 minutes as his cross found Cartman in the area and he produced a terrific turn and finish.
Liversedge kept up the pressure and with four minutes remaining Jerry White found Wasley who floated a cross into Jagger who fired home to cap a fine Liversedge win in front of an appreciative home crowd.
