Gerrard chatted with Huddersfield fans following their 2-1 victory over Wolves the previous day.

Preston North End’s Liverpool-born striker Lee Trundle was also at Clayborn offering his support.

A third star fan at last Sunday’s game was 25-year-old boxing champion Rocky Fielding.

The Oak Tree pub run coaches to many of Rocky’s fights and they were out in force earlier this month to watch the star beat Carl Dilks to win the English super middleweight title.

That clash topped the bill at Prizefighter in Liverpool, when Dewsbury’s Gary Sykes lost a narrow points decision against Terry Flanigan in the final.
