Town harder to beat

Manager Simon Grayson claimed that Town are hard to beat, which is just as well with league leaders Charlton due at the Galpharm on Saturday, kick-off 3pm;

Grayson was forced to make a change in his back four with Tom Clarke coming in for his 100th appearance at left-back after Callum Woods was injured in training. Woods should be fit to face Charlton. Clarke performed solidly alongside Sean Morrison, Peter Clarke and Jack Hunt.

After a slow start on Tuesday night Lee Novak showed his skill powering home an Antony Kay pass. Jordan Rhodes made it 2-0 shortly after when he turned home a Hunt cross for his 34th league and cup goal of the season.

Gary Roberts also stuck the crossbar they could have and should have scored more but unlike in other matches this season Town held on to seal all three points.

Town remain fourth three points behind third-placed Sheffield Wednesday who drew 2-2 at home to Walsall last night. They are five points behind second-placed Sheffield United who were 5-2 winners at Notts County on tuesday night.
