Gary Sykes to face Tommy Coyle in Prizefighter

DEWSBURY’S Gary Sykes has been drawn to meet unbeaten Hull man Tommy Coyle in the first round of Prizefighter, which takes place at the Liverpool Olympia this Saturday.

The draw took place on Sky Sports News this lunchtime (Wednesday) and paired Sykes against one of his former sparring partners.

Liverpool’s Derry Mathews takes on Jamie Spence, Anthony Crolla meets Steve Jennings and Halifax’s Liam Patrick Walsh will face unbeaten Terry Flannigan, from Manchester, in the other first round ties.

If Sykes overcomes Coyle in his first round bout, he would meet the winner of Crolla and Jennings in the second semi final.
