Ryan Haigh was named Liversedge’s player of the season following last Saturday’s final Northern Counties East League match.
Captain Haigh has had a superb season in which he has only missed two matches, while his influence in the dressing room was also a key factor in him winning the award.
Matthew Thompson was named players’ player of the season, Bradley Wilkinson was young player, while Declan Dawson picked up the Development player of the season and players’ player awards.
There was a double award for Liversedge’s leading scorer Gibril Bojang, who finished with 19 goals, as he was Liversedge supporters and committee player of the season.
Liversedge suffered a 4-0 defeat to Tadcaster on the final day of the campaign and end with a record of 10 wins, six draws and 28 defeats from their 44 matches as they finished in 20th place.
Carl Stewart grabbed a hat-trick, with goals after 33, 62 and 75 minutes, while Callum Ward also netted.
Liversedge were watched by their biggest crowd of the season, with 147 paying spectators at Clayborn, but this was thanks to a successful community day staged by the club.
Sedge had handed out free tickets to parents whose children were playing in the tournament, while youngsters were also admitted free.
Gomersal & Cleckheaton, Norristhorpe and Cleckheaton juniors were joined by Brighouse in a pre-match tournament.
Brighouse went home with the spoils, having edged out Gomersal & Cleckheaton in a thrilling final but the day was more about building stronger links with the local junior clubs.
n Liversedge now look at rebuilding ahead of next season and will host a series of open trials in early June.
The trials are open to anyone over the age of 16 who feels capable of playing at Northern Counties East League level and further details are available from manager Dave Thompson on 07920 796562.
