Kismat defeated Savile Town by 36 runs to win the Dewsbury District League Section A Cup at Batley CC last Sunday.
It proved a memorable day for Ismail Haji as he claimed a hat-trick on his way to figures of 4-10 to seal his side’s win, which ended Savile Town’s hopes of a league and cup double.
Ayaz Sidat top scored with 49 as Kismat were bowled out for 126 when batting first, as Mohammed Nawaz claimed 3-19.
However, only Nazakhat Hussain (27) had an answer to Haji’s bowling is reply as Savile Town were bowled out for 90.
Dewsbury Elite moved up to second place in Dewsbury District League Section B following an emphatic 164-run win over Shaheen.
Sajad Hussain and Abdul Qadir Zafer dominated the Shaheen bowling, both hitting centuries in Elite’s impressive total of 279-1.
Zafer was eventually out for 119 but Hussain carried his bat, ending 131 not out.
Tamoor Saghir then claimed 3-21 as Shaheen were dismissed for 114.
Elite remain 18 points behind leaders Azad, who eased to a six-wicket win over bottom side Birkby All Stars, who they dismissed for 173.
Elite have a game in hand on Azad and are now six points clear of third placed KK.
Driftwood leaped above Kashmir into third bottom following an 18-run win.
Arslan (35) top scored in Driftwood’s 121 all out, which saw Sharafat claim 4-28.
Nazakhat struck 42 in reply but Kashmir were bowled out for 103 as Asif returned impressive figures of 5-12 as Driftwood claimed only their third win of the season.
