BATLEY Boys bid to end their season on a high note tomorrow (Friday) as they face York Acorn A in the Yorkshire League Division Two play-off final.

The Boys finished top of Division Two, one point ahead of second-placed Acorn A, who boasted the meanest defence over the season.

The Halifax Road side will be looking to make it a treble having won 34-33 at Acorn A in March before completing a league double with a 30-0 home win last month.

The Boys’ hopes of a Heavy Woollen Jim Brown Cup final ended last Saturday as they lost 48-44 at home to Dewsbury Moor.

The final will be played next Wednesday, June 1 at Batley Bulldogs, kick-off 7pm with Moor facing Pennine League Championship Division rivals Ossett Trinity.

The following Wednesday, June 8, Dewsbury Celtic will meet Shaw Cross Sharks in the John Kane Cup final at Batley Bulldogs (7pm).
