Cleckheaton overcame a nervy final day of action to claim their first ever JCT600 Bradford League Division One title.
Cleckheaton went into their final game at six-time champions Woodlands needing four points to clinch the title but nerves began to take their toll as the hosts eased to 202-4.
Watched by Yorkshire skipper Andrew Gale and England star Tim Bresnan, Cleckheaton required just two batting points from their reply but looked in big trouble on 55-3.
Batsman Tim Jackson came to the rescue and hit 67 to steady the ship and pass 1,000 runs for the season.
Richard Whitehead added an unbeaten 49 and the news that title rivals Pudsey St Lawrence had lost to Lightcliffe by one wicket confirmed the title was Cleckheaton’s despite them finishing the match 17 runs short of Woodlands’ innings.
