Jardy Boys slip to third after a draw in top-of-table clash

JARDY Boys battled out a 1-1 draw with BD3 United in their top of the Spen Valley League Premier Division clash last Saturday.

It was tight throughout and after a goalless first half, Ohtiohamn Yasim struck for BD3, with Joe Hallas on target for Jardy Boys, who also missed a penalty which would have given them victory.

A win would have seen Jardy Boys jump above their rivals and move top of the table but the draw saw them drop a place to third.

BD3 are a point above Jardy Boys and also have a game in hand, while Bradford moved level on 27 points with the leaders following a 7-0 win against understrength Quarry.

Aziar Gulzar led the way with a hat-trick, while Richard Bentley, Iftaq Hussain, John Singh and Gulpal Bhambra also struck for Bradford, who have played two games more than BD3.

Kieran Jagger had an excellent game for Quarry but they remain second-bottom.

Tion Richards bagged a brace, while Bobby Canning, Phil Holmes and Sam Prest also netted for Bradford.

Mount moved three points clear of Quarry after they were involved in an entertaining 3-3 draw TVR.

Mohammed Mayet (two) and Siddique Yoosoof struck for Mount but TVR hit back with three goals late in the second half to rescue a point thanks to Nassar Hussain (two) and Abid Khan.

Girlington defeated Fairbank 2-1 in the other top flight game.

Vision earned a vital win in their quest for the Division One title, overcoming rivals Oakwell 1-0.

The sides went into the game level on 35 points but Chris Lever’s second half goal ensured Vision maintained their unbeaten run as they moved three points clear at the top, with a game in hand on Oakwell.

Marsh turned a 3-2 half-time deficit into a 6-3 victory over Savile Town, they are now four points behind Oakwell with a game in hand.

Abu Mulla (two) and Yaseen Patel put Savile Town in front at half-time but Marsh turned the game around as man-of-the-match David Webster hit a hat-trick, while Mark Drake, James Shingleton and Mark Wrigley also struck.

Thornhill United B moved off the foot of the table thanks to a 3-1 win over Inter Batley, who replace them on goal difference. Jake Hickling, Ryan Bolton and Dave Wilson netted for Thornhill, with Sully Variaya replying for Inter.

Howden Clough stay fourth but lost ground on the front runners after a 6-2 defeat to Bradford All Stars.

The sides were locked 1-1 at half-time but All Stars pulled away after the break to seal a comfortable win. Mohsin Hussain bagged a brace, while Hamran Zahid, Muddasser Idress and Misbah Choudhury were also among the scorers.Ashley Peel and Phil Crossland replied for Clough.

BD3 United Reserves crushed third-bottom Ravenswharfe 8-1. Syeed Hussain hit five goals, with Sohail Akhtar and Sajid Khan (two) also on target, Paul Pearson bagged Ravenswharfe’s consolation.

ALC (Karl Hall and Nazran Khan) defeated Norfolk (Mo Shoiab) 2-1.
