Saif Cheema lands a blow during his bout with Mitch Lisle

Boxers from clubs across Yorkshire were represented, with 15 bouts on the show, which helped raise funds for orphans left behind following deadly attacks in Gaza.

The early stages of the show saw schoolboy and junior bouts with KBW’s Moqeet Rahman securing a unanimous decision win over Aaron Cable of Red Car ABC and Adam Shakil winning a split decision over Jack Lawson from Hull.

Callum Grace, who recently joined the ranks of KBW, lost on a split decision to Subhan Ahmed of Burmantofts ABC.

KBW prospect Huzayfa Khan fought a bruising contest that ebbed and flowed but Khan’s class prevailed, winning a unanimous decision over Jag Briar, who had travelled to the show from Northampton.

KBW teammate Ayub Khan battled Macauley Gordon, of Bracebridge ABC, in a re-match from a bout in May.

Ayub produced the superior boxing skills to inflict a second defeat on Gordon.

Areeb Cheema met Nathan O’Shea, of Bracebridge ABC, and fought a close contest over three rounds with the KBW man edging a split decision on the judges cards.

Leeds man Kevin Pratt (KBW) had a tough bout against Steffan Baxter, of Hebden Bridge ABC, with both men landing heavy blows in the first round.

Pratt’s superior fitness saw him edge the fight in the later rounds, landing more precise blows to secure a majority decision on the judges cards.

KBW’s Saif Cheema squared off against Mitch Lisle, of East Burn ABC, in his fight since moving up in weight and without protective head guards, as per new England amateur boxing rules for senior boxers

It proved to be a bigger test than anticipated, with both men trading punches but it was the Dewsbury man who landed more shots to take the first two rounds.

Towards the end of the third, Lisle landed a big left hook to Cheema’s jaw which rocked the home man and forced the referee to give a standing eight count.

Cheema went back to defensive boxing to hear the final bell and have his hand raised as the victor by split decision.

Kabeer Khan, of Cleckheaton ABC, was awarded a split decision victory over Aaron Eagan (FIT21 ABC) but after both boxers left the ring to collect awards, they were called back and Eagan was announced the winner following an alleged decision error.
