Kennedy treble for United

ARON Kennedy fired a hat-trick as Thornhill United overcame Quarry 4-1 in the Spen Valley Premier Division last Saturday.

Triston Kennedy bagged their other goal, while Brad Jackson hit Quarry’s consolation.

Oakwell fought back from 2-1 down at half-time to edge out Wellington by the odd goal in seven. Johnny Beverley and Rob Ives bagged a brace apiece.

Youth 2000 earned a 6-2 victory over George Healey, having led 3-2 at half-time. S Bhana (two) Khalid Chibda, Ismail Chibda, Modsa Raji and Waqas Rehman scored for Youth.

Nathan O’Reilly and John Brooke struck first half goals for George before Youth hit three without reply after the break.

The top of the table clash between TVR United and Ravensthorpe Rangers was postponed when the referee didn’t turn up.

The league management will discuss this matter on March 8.

The top two sides in Division One also clashed with Park and Fairbank battling out a 1-1 draw.

Faisal Shabbir put Fairbank ahead just before half-time but Carl Austin grabbed the equaliser in the second half.

Fairbank’s goalkeeper was in fine form to earn his side a share of the spoils.

Howden Clough drew 1-1 with Norfolk as 16-year-old Ashley Reed gave Clough a first half lead but Qasim Bostan levelled for Norfolk.

West Bradford Spartans beat Inter Batley 3-2, having led 1-0 at half-time. Calvin Manyange, Danny Davey and Phil Holmes scored for the winners, while Inter’s replies came from Fateh Laher and Yusuf Dadhiwala.

Marsh were involved in a keenly contested game at home to BD3 United before Tuseis Arshad’s second half strike snatched a 1-0 win for the visitors.

ALC fought back from 2-1 down at half-time to beat Oakwell Reserves 5-3. Kev Wilkinson, Wes Oliver, Adam Wilson, Nazraan Khan and Khaled Elsayed bagged a goal each for ALC while Richard McCann, Dayne Walker and Chris Appleyard were on target for Oakwell.

Ben Wilson smashed five goals as Stithy thrashed Savile Town Athletic 12-1, having led 3-0 at half-time. Steven Gawthorpe (two), Mark Wilson, Liam Smith, Willie O’Neil, Adam Wadsworth and Mark Brown also struck to make up Stithy’s dozen.
