King hands out prizes to Dewsbury Moor Under-7 players

The presentation evening was also combined with a Christmas party, which included a surprise visit from Santa, who handed each child a gift.

The young team was set up in September this year but managed to play numerous fixtures, including during half-time at Super League games involving Leeds Rhinos and Huddersfield Giants.

They also entered teams at the Shaw Cross and their own galas.

Moor have already attracted 18 players, who were all in attendance at the presentation and were rewarded with squad trophies.

Evan Jones scooped man of steel for his impressive try scoring and tackling.

The team are already looking forward to their full season, which begins in March, as they move up to Under-8s.

Moor are always looking for new players for the team, with boys and girls from school years one , two and three welcome to training at Westmoor Sports Hall on Tuesdays between 6pm to 7pm during the winter.
