Littletown miss out on semi-final place

Littletown crashed out of the West Riding County Amateur League Cup, losing 9-0 at home to Campion in Saturday’s quarter-final.

Littletown trailed 3-0 at half-time and conceded a further six goals after the break as Omar Habeeb struck four times, Steve Hollingworth and Damian Melvin bagged a brace apiece and Ben Kendall also netted.

Dale Wright hit a brace for Hunsworth, while Joel Farrar also netted but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 7-3 defeat at home to Golcar United in the Premier Division.

Overthorpe won a nine-goal thriller against Steeton Reserves in Division One.

Jack Allerton (two), James Wilson, Mick Hill and Sam Sweeney scored the goals which secured Overthorpe’s third win of the season.

Lower Hopton Reserves bowed out of the Division Two Cup, losing their quarter-final 2-1 to Hunslet Parkside, despite an Adam Walsh strike.

Chris Benn led the way with a hat-trick, while Craig Kellett, Matthew Knott, Simon Emery and James McLoughlin also struck as Vision gained their second win of the season.

James Parkin (two), Spencer Balmforth, David Webster and Chris Blackburn replied for Marsh.

Victory saw Vision move up a place to ninth, above Savile United, whose game at TVR was postponed.

Moshin Hazi and Adeeb Rehman were on target as Savile Youth were beaten 4-2 away to Girlington, who are two points clear at the top of the table.

Bradford Athletic are fourth after Rion Ali (four), Sultan Khan (two), Mushad Ahmed and Mohammed Ahmed found the net in a 9-0 victory over Whitburn.

George Healey thrashed Division One’s bottom side George Healey 11-0 to pick up their third win of the season.

Ryan Jones and Olly Mitchell bagged a hat-trick apiece, while Courtney March (two), Ash Parkinson, Luke Newsome and Dom Hinchliffe also netted.

Kawad Khan and Mohammed Patel struck for Mount Pleasant but they lost 4-2 to Palestino, who had Abu Bakr Saddique, Imar Israr and Shamraz Hussain (two) on target.

Norfolk (Ismail Loonat and Said Said) drew 2-2 with Inter Batley (Sawban Dadhiwala and Moosa Hafeji), while Howden Clough went down 8-0 at Idle.

Dewsbury Rangers are the new leaders of Wakefield League Division One despite being held to a 2-2 draw at home to AFC Ossett.

Rangers are a point clear of Altofts and Crackenedge, who were not in league action last weekend.
