Liversedge suffered a 7-0 hammering at the hands of Northern Counties East League Premier Division leaders Tadcaster Albion last Saturday.
Sedge were only two goals down at half-time but the sending off of Glen O’Gara five minutes before the break proved key as the home side went on to concede five further goals.
O’Gara was yellow carded in a fourth minute incident which saw Tadcaster awarded a penalty and Carl Stewart converted the resulting spot kick.
Callum Ward doubled Albion’s lead after 15 minutes, before Liversedge held firm for a spell.
O’Gara was shown a second yellow card, which ended Liversedge’s hopes of getting anything out of the game.
Tadcaster took control and added a further five goals to complete their biggest win of the season and extend their advantage at the top of the table to six points over Shaw Lane.
Ward bagged his second after 55 minutes and John Greening added a fourth goal after 68 minutes.
Alan Colquhoun’s men had acquitted themselves well in a midweek County Cup tie before three goals in the final 15 minutes secured Tadcaster a 3-1 win and the visitors again finished strongly.
Josh Greening made it 5-0 10 minutes from full-time, Josh Barrett added a sixth and David Brown completed the rout in the final minute as the leaders romped to victory.
