LIVERSEDGE will spend little time celebrating their survival in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division as they prepare to be pushing at the top of the table next season.
Despite signing off with a 2-1 defeat in their final match at home to Hallam last Saturday Liversedge finished fourth bottom. On Tuesday night Arnold won to stay up and relegate opponents Hallam.
Liversedge manager Billy Miller admitted: “After the Parkgate game we knew realistically we were safe but we did do enough to win on Saturday.
“It was disappointing but as I told the lads, when you look back on November 13 when we took over we were bottom and had seven points, on Saturday we finished fourth bottom and are safe.”
Miller added: “The chairman Steve Newton and I spoke the other night, he has been really brilliant and we both said we will spend the summer re-building so that we will be pushing at the top end of the table.”
The club’s presentation night is next Friday, May 6 at 7.30pm.
