Liversedge will return refreshed

LIVERSEDGE will return to Northern Counties East League Premier Division action tomorrow fully refreshed having had a week off.

Eric Gilchrist’s men travel to lowly Armthorpe Welfare buoyed by their impressive 3-1 win at Retford United last time out when new signing Chris McMahon scored twice on his debut.

Liversedge lie 14th in the table but are just four points behind ninth-placed Parkgate and will see tomorrow’s clash as a good chance to make up ground on the sides directly above them.

After the trip to third-bottom Armthorpe, Liversedge face three tough games over the Christmas period when the Clayborners take on Staveley MW home and away, either side of their Boxing Day derby trip to promotion hopefuls Brighouse Town.

Sedge lost 3-1 to Armthorpe in August but Welfare have lost their last five matches in all competitions.
