Both sides deserve huge credit for playing in horrendous conditions, with driving rain throughout and Moor set up a final against either Skirlaugh or Farnley Falcons at South Leeds Stadium on January 24.

A crash on the M62 delayed West Hull’s arrival, as the match was put back to 12.15pm, and Moor caught the visitors cold as good runs by Alex Hollingworth, Cain Crotty and Tom Kay set up the position for Caden Wilkinson to storm over and Cameron Adleigh converted.

West Hull were taken by surprise and Moor maintained their early onslaught with strong runs by Billy Yarrow, Archie Bruce and John Bowness set up Dean Carr to score the second try.

West Hull stormed back into the game and grabbed a converted try to reduce the half-time deficit to 10-6.

The big West Hull props drove their side forward at the start of the second half and their ability to offload passes in the tackle put Moor’s defence under pressure.

This led to the visitors scoring a second try and the conversion edged them 12-10 ahead.

A kick through by the visitors was gathered by Max Vernon and the full-back set off on a majestic 80-metre run up the middle of the field to score a cracking try which he converted.

West Hull responded with the equalising try but the simple conversion was missed to Moor’s relief.

Moor dug deep and good runs by Elliot Sheard and Aiden Sheard relieved pressure before Crotty went on a storming run to take the home side close to the line.

Hooker Jacob Crosswell scored from close range and Vernon converted as Moor led 22-16.
