CLeCKHEATON produced a fine 35-18 berby win at Old Brodleians thanks to two late tries by Paul Turner and Michael Piper, both converted by Iain Gordon.

Earlier it had been an evenly matched contest. Ross Hayden gave the visitors the lead with a converted try.

Danny Wood added a penalty for Brods who took the lead with a try by Liam Scott which Wood converted.

At half-time Brods led 15-7 thanks to a try by Adam Standeven.

Chris Piper brought Cleckheaton back into it with a converted try but Brods answered with a penalty. The tide turned towards Cleckheaton though when Hayden scored his second try from an interception and they did not look back.

Victory takes Cleckheaton up to eight place in North One East.
