Mount A team maintained their good run in Halifax League Division Two with a 75-run win away to Low Moor last Saturday.

Mount lost two early wickets having been asked to bat first but A Visnagri (34) and Anees Rawat (28) steadied the ship before Hanif Kayat struck a fine 72.

Imran Rawat (29) and Zahoor Munaf (28no) helped boost the Mount total to 245 all out.

Imran Rawat and Anees Rawat only conceded 13 runs off the first 10 overs of Low Moor’s reply.

Soyeb Gheewala claimed 3-47 and although Low Moor attempted to get back into the game, Fakir Laher and Rawat picked up four wickets between them for just 16 runs.

Rawat finished with 3-36 from 12.2 overs as Low Moor were bowled out for 170.

Victory saw Mount move joint top of the table on 75 points with Luddendenfoot ahead of Saturday’s top of the table clash.

Mount are also in action on Sunday when they entertain Illingworth in the cup quarter-finals.

Mount B secured an 85-run win over Great Horton B in second teams Division One,

The visitors put Mount into bat on a green wicket and had them in trouble at 45-3.

Nazir Patel led the revival with 51, while Imran Kayat hit 43 to help Mount to 230 all out.

Great Horton made a slow start in reply as new ball bowlers Amjad Hussain and Jabir Patel bowled tight spells and they stumbled to 21-1 after 10 overs.

Suleman Rawat went on to claim 5-30 as Great Horton were bowled out for 145 and Mount completed victory which sees them maintain their second place in the table.

A young Mount side also claimed victory in the Mid Yorkshire Sunday League as they defeated Hunslet Nelson by 99 runs.

S Wadee made his debut having signed during the week and he made an excellent start with his new club, with a half century.

Wadee shared an excellent 110 partnership with Muneeb Patel (50no) as Mount made 219-7 of there allocated 40 overs.

Hunslet Nelson were bowled out for 120 in reply as Yusuf Kayat picked 3-19 to complete victory as Mount rounded off a successful weekend.
