Nadeem boxes to victory

Amin Nadeem earned an impressive win over Oliver Lloyd at an army regiment event in Wakefield last Friday.

The show’s card comprised mainly of fights in which two army regiments boxed against each other but Amin travelled from the KBW Gym in Dewsbury to take on Lloyd, who was representing the 299 Parachute Regiment.

Amin drew blood early in the first round after some neat combination shots.

Amin came out aggressive at the start of the second, delivering some powerful body shots .

The referee had seen enough in the third to stop the contest to give Amin an impressive TKO victory.

n An afternoon of charity boxing will take place at The Frontier Club on Sunday June 16 in aid of injured Shaw Cross Sharks player Ryan Glynn.

Organisers have enlisted the help of hometown star Gary Sykes and Tony Aitcheson, along with former IBO light middleweight champion Steve Conway, who will be judges.

The show will see 18 bouts between boxers from 10 rugby league clubs.

There is a cracking bout planned between Batley Bulldogs’ Johnny Campbell and Dewsbury Rams winger Jamaine Akaidere.

Bulldogs players Danny Maun, Liam Walmsley and Ash Lindsay will also fight on the bill.

Steve Shaw, Dave Hudson, Kev Dickens, Nathan Hatfield and Danny Annakin of Shaw Cross are among the 36 fighters who have signed up, as has Dewsbury Celtic’s Pat Foulstone.

Star referee Micky Vann, from Leeds, will officiate at the event and tickets are £30 per head including a meal or £20 for standing £20.
